Steve Wagner will be at the 38th Good Old Summertime Art Fair

SteveWagner

Steve Wagner

I am an artist living in a the rural village of Brooklyn, just south of Madison Wisconsin. I grew up in Beloit Wisconsin and went on to study fine arts and graphic design at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.

Working in watercolor is enjoyable to me because its unique transparent qualities allow colors to interact with each other in unexpected ways. I use natural forms inspired by wildlife and childhood memories. I work in a stylized manner with emphasis in capturing the essence of the subject. Implied motion is created with layers of overlapping shapes and varying degrees of detail.

I am a member of the Madison Arts Guild and the 14 South Artist group. My wife Sandy and I like the challenges of showing at art festivals. We have learned so much in the last five years and hope to see you at an upcoming event.

You can visit Steve Wagner at The 38th Good Old Summertime Art Fair’s booth W28.

Artist James Steeno will be at the Good Old Summetime Art Fair

James Steeno
James Steeno is a full-time freelance illustrator and graphic artist from magnificent Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He grew up in Green Bay, and studied illustration and design at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh where he received his Bachelors.

I love illustrating with watercolors, paper collage, and painting. I get a little rush out of making marks on fresh white paper or canvas, the creative process and watching images spring to life through color and lines. I am extremely lucky to have my own home studio space and that my creations are being purchased and sent all over the world to Etsy art-lovers everywhere.

My art is inspired by local strange history, impassioned architecture, birds, animals, and creatures, flora and fauna that share our habitat, especially the ones that live in the city. My obsessions are museum exhibitions, tons of art books, fellow artists, and artists of history. My favorites include the greats like Wayne Thiebaud, Andrew Wyeth, Lucian Freud, and Van Gogh.

Fifteen Years of the Finest Handmade Copper Sprinklers and Lawn Art at the Good Old Summertime Art Fair

Picture it Perfect

In 2013, Picture It Perfect is celebrating our 15th year of hand crafting copper outdoor art. Our individually hand-crafted ornamental copper sprinklers, lawn or garden art, and hummingbird feeders will add beauty to your yard or gardenscape. Each of our exclusive sprinkler designs creates a wondrous optical illusion when it spins, yet is a beautiful, eye-catching sculpture when still. Our copper bird feeders and Twilight Twirler lawn art catch both wind and sun, creating an aesthetic in harmony with nature for your yard or gardenscape.

Jim Ziccarelli and his wife Nancy became interested in ornamental copper sprinklers after Jim’s dad gave them a sprinkler he had made as a gift. Little did they know at the time that crafting these unique works of art would become their future livelihood. Jim took one look at the sprinkler and having been a machinist for over 20 years, knew he could improve on the design and function. Each of his exclusive designs creates a wondrous optical illusion when it spins, yet is a beautiful sculpture when not in use – Beauty and Function combined!

You can visit Jim and Nancy Zicarelli The 38th Good Old Summertime Art Fair’s booth N22.

Au Plein Artist Brian Pier will be demonstrating his oil painting techniques at The Good Old Summertime Art Fair

BrianPier

Brian Pier, a Wisconsin native was born in 1953 in the town of Kenosha Wisconsin. Brian began painting at an early age and immediately knew that his true purpose in life was to be an artist. At the age of 18 he left home and traveled throughout the U.S., constantly studying and painting the people and landscape around him, finally returning to Wisconsin five years later.

Brian’s career took a different path and he worked in the construction industry continuing to paint whenever he had the opportunity. Throughout, art has remained an essential part of his life, and in 2008 he picked up his brushes full time. To his amazement Brian discovered that he could observe, understand and depict life through his paintings in ways he never had before. I am primarily self taught, but am strongly influenced by many of the 19th and early 20th century masters.

I study and paint every day, working only in oil and use a limited palette. My passion is painting plein air and I continually find drama in the landscapes and people that I paint. My paintings are about the changing light and the way that it plays on the natural beauty that surrounds me.

Brian will be at The 38th Good Old Summertime Art Fair!

Kim Rahal will be painting on location at The Good Old Summertime Art Fair

KimRahal

Kim Rahal has been painting and showing her work for over 20 years. She has shown and sold her work in Illinois, Colorado, California, Virginia and Wisconsin. Best known for her color saturated abstract works, she works with oils and pastels, but enjoys working with all mediums

She was born in California, and currently reside in Wisconsin.

I am a artist who experiments with many different types of mediums and styles. I love to do abstracts because of the freedom of expression. Abstracts allow me to express a feeling or emotion. I prefer to work in oils because of the rich texture and deep colors of the paint, but also work in pastel to do figures. I find that the body is an interesting subject. I am very attracted to contrast and light. I feel that art is an expression of many things. I have spent my whole life working on my art. At first I tried to capture perfection and as time has gone on I have learned it is not perfection that I need to capture but the feel of my subject. Life is not perfect therefore the emotion of the subject is a better goal to achieve and what I pursue, I hope you enjoy my work. .

Kim will be painting on location at The 38th Good Old Summertime Art Fair.
